Mexico: Nayarit Extreme Missions Trip

Location: Nayarit, Mexico

In the rugged mountains of Central Mexico are thousands of small indigenous villages. The majority of the people living in these remote communities have never truly heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. In one small village, Kaleo is establishing a base to train indigenous believers to share the gospel within their own tribes and to help strengthen the growing body of Christ in the surrounding mountain communities.

Kaleo is reaching into the mountains to bring the love of Christ to the unreached. We work among the Tepehuan, Huichol, and Cora tribes. By God's grace many are now responding to the call of salvation.

On this trip, you will witness firsthand the mighty work the Lord is doing in this region—through evangelism, discipleship, building, and connecting with local communities. Part of the team will remain in the village to strengthen the church through teaching and evangelism, while also helping with practical projects on the base. Other smaller teams will venture deeper into the mountains, on foot or horseback visiting villages we have preached in before and seeking out new communities where the gospel has never been preached. Along the way, we will show the Jesus Film and distribute audio Bibles in the people’s own languages. Some villages can only be reached after hours of hiking, while others are accessible by truck.

This is an extreme mission trip—not for everyone. You must be in good physical condition, willing to bathe in the river, and prepared to sleep in tents or on floors, often without access to a bathroom. Just as important, you must be spiritually strong, ready to stand firm in the face of real spiritual warfare.
